FALMOUTH EDUCATION VIRTUAL 5K
The Falmouth Education Virtual 5K was a great success. Since its inception in 2011, this annual 5K walk/run has raised over $60,000 for the Falmouth Education Foundation and the Falmouth Pubic Schools. FEF is very excited that the race lived on virtually in 2020! Our appreciation to Lindsay Benson, Carrie Shanahan, and Stephanie Carreiro, and all those who participated in this unprecedented virtual 5K and their support of FEF.

Work. by High School Art and Literature Students on Display
A portable show of broadside poems from the Falmouth High School’s “Transcend’Artists” project, funded by FEF, will be on display at the Woods Hole Library during the month of July.
These broadsides were created by students in Jane Baker’s advanced placement and honors art classes and Lauren Kenny’s advanced placement literature class in response to naturalist studies that students completed in Beebe Woods and Fruitlands conservation lands this past fall.
Photos from the student field trips and research and field notes are also on display. The portable art show panels were created thanks to a grant from the Woods Hole Foundation, and the Transcend’Artists project was fully funded by the Falmouth Education Foundation.
Woods Hole Library hours started Wednesday, July 1, and are 10 AM to 2 PM Monday through Saturday. Panels will be outside on the lower level weather permitting.

The Falmouth Education Foundation has given the town’s schools a $125,000 grant that will allow the district’s youngest students to use remote-learning tools during the coronavirus pandemic. The funds will provide Chromebooks, mobile WiFi hotspot devices and computer mice for every student from kindergarten to grade 2. It is the foundation’s largest single gift to the school district. Superintendent Lori S. Duerr announced the gift during the Falmouth School Committee’s remote-access meeting on Tuesday, April 14.
