Barrie Murray, as to her reasons for donating $10,000 from The Hollis and Ermine Lovell Charitable Foundation.
“I was absolutely blown away with the scope of what the Falmouth Education Foundation does to reach every aspect of the Falmouth Public Schools, to provide teachers with what they need to expand students’ educational experiences, be it in the arts, sciences, mathematics, or field trips.
Education is just so important, and it is such a privilege for me to keep my aunt and uncle’s legacy alive and I think they would be very happy with what I am doing to stay within their guidelines. You know a lot of people in the next generation won’t know who the Lovell’s are, but their wish to be able to enrich Falmouth will just keep growing.
I am all about seeing where the money goes. I am not one who just gives a blanket check without knowing what it is going to look like at the other end. I wanted to donate, and I will continue to donate, as long as the stock market continues to give me the advantage to be able to do this.
I am just thrilled!”
